El alcalde de Brownsville, Trey M\u00e9ndez, anunci\u00f3 el mi\u00e9rcoles por la noche que no buscar\u00e1 la reelecci\u00f3n en mayo de 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00e9ndez hizo p\u00fablico el anuncio en su p\u00e1gina de Facebook, reflexionando sobre su mandato de tres a\u00f1os con la Ciudad de Brownsville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMe doy cuenta de que los \u00faltimos tres a\u00f1os y medio han tenido un gran impacto en mi salud f\u00edsica, mental y financiera con la que pocos pueden identificarse\u201d, declar\u00f3 M\u00e9ndez en la publicaci\u00f3n de Facebook<\/a> . \u201cCreo que hemos manejado con \u00e9xito una multitud de eventos catastr\u00f3ficos e imprevistos en los \u00faltimos 36 meses que requirieron nuestra atenci\u00f3n absoluta, pero no fue f\u00e1cil\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00e9ndez fue elegido alcalde de Brownsville en junio de 2019, seg\u00fan el sitio web de la ciudad de Brownsville. Prest\u00f3 juramento al cargo el mes siguiente, el 2 de julio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA pesar de estos logros, mi trabajo a\u00fan no est\u00e1 terminado. Ser\u00e1 un honor cumplir mi mandato con la misma energ\u00eda y liderazgo que ha visto en los \u00faltimos 3 a\u00f1os y le deseo mucho \u00e9xito al pr\u00f3ximo alcalde\u201d, dijo M\u00e9ndez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
